Our Story

Established in 2016

It all started in early 1900s Brooklyn, with Victor Plotkin.  He was an extraordinarily creative boy with an imagination that would later be the source of his craft.  Victor loved to write.  He put his poems, songs, and stories to paper.  These writings would never be shown to the public eye and were hidden away for decades.  Eventually, Victor went on to pursue a career in engineering for the US Army and earned many achievements along the way.  Stories for another day.  Now, we fast forward to a few years ago.

Victor passed away at a ripe old age and left behind a legacy that became the origin of Family Fables.  You see, after Victor passed away, his son, Warren, discovered many of his unknown works. Victor never had the opportunity to publish them, may those opportunities come in the form of money, time, or network.  Warren went on to gather the necessary funds to publish Victor’s first complete children’s book, The Immortal Firefly.  Victor’s children’s book is still on shelves today, but the barriers Victor and his son faced to have this book published were tremendous. 

Victor’s grandson, Z. P. Phillips inherited a lot of Victor’s qualities, in particular his kindness and creativity.  Z. P. heard of his grandfather’s story and wanted to step in to continue his legacy – his legacy to bring joy to children, create meaningful stories, and provide opportunity for others to follow their dreams.  Thus Family Fables was born.  We continue to live by these principles to this day…
